Hi, I'm Ha!
THERAPIST. AUTHOR. SPEAKER

Made in Vietnam. Farm-raised in America.
Daughter of a shrimper and the Most High God.

I'm Ha Alberti, a licensed clinical social worker, writer, speaker, and founder of Tampa Life Counseling.

In my counseling practice, I help individuals and couples navigate relationship challenges, emotional struggles, and life's unexpected turns.

Through my writing and speaking, I share stories of faith, relationships, resilience, and God's grace—bringing together personal experiences, psychological insights, practical wisdom, and a little humor along the way.

From the Salon Chair
to the Therapist's Chair

I started my career as a hairstylist, eventually owning a salon and teaching for Aveda. But behind the salon chair, women rarely talked only about their hair. They talked about marriage, motherhood, heartbreak, faith, family, and starting over.

I listened to their stories while living a story of my own—one filled with unexpected turns, disappointments, new beginnings, and more than a few plans that didn’t turn out the way I imagined.

Eventually, I left the salon and began working in a psychiatrist’s office. I became a therapist, but in many ways, the heart of my work never changed. I was still sitting with people in the messy places of life, helping them make sense of what hurt and discover what might come next.

Looking back, I can see something I couldn’t always see while I was living it:
God was present in the detours.

Some of the chapters I thought had gone terribly wrong became the very ones He used to lead me somewhere new.

That is why grace and second chances run through so much of what I write, teach, and speak about today. I believe our hardest seasons don’t have to be wasted—and sometimes what looks like the end of one story is simply the beginning of another.

One of my favorite memories from my salon years—with my grandfather.

Couples Therapist
Ha Alberti, LCSW
I'm specialize in trauma and couples therapy. My work focuses on helping people understand what's happening beneath the surface of their relationships—the fears, hurts, patterns, and protective responses that can keep us disconnected from the people we love.

I especially enjoy helping couples move away from "me against you" and toward "us against the problem."

My approach is compassionate, practical, and respectful of each person's background and beliefs. While faith is an important part of my personal life, I incorporate spirituality into counseling only when clients request it.

Author
I write about faith, relationships, resilience, family, and the messy places in between.

My writing draws from a life that has included being a hairstylist and salon owner, therapist, wife, mother, and a woman who has had to navigate her own unexpected chapters.

Some stories teach.
Some make us laugh.
Some break our hearts.
And some remind us that God was present long before we recognized Him.

Speaker
I speak to women’s groups, churches, and communities about relationships, emotional health, faith, shame, boundaries, and navigating the seasons of life that don’t turn out quite the way we expected.

When I speak, I want people to feel like they’ve pulled up a chair and joined a conversation—one where they can recognize themselves, laugh a little, think differently, and leave with something practical they can actually use.

A Few Things About Me
My relationship with Jesus is the anchor of my life. I believe He meets us in our real stories—not just the polished ones.

I'm a wife and mom. Family keeps life full, unpredictable, humbling, and very real.

Most weekends, you can find me at the beach. It's where I slow down, exhale, spend time with my family, and reset for the week ahead.
Faith Is Woven Through My Story
My faith in Christ is woven throughout my personal story. It shapes the way I write and speak about relationships, grace, forgiveness, and hope.

I believe God meets us in ordinary places—in conversations, relationships, disappointments, unexpected turns, and sometimes even in the parts of our stories we would never have chosen.

I don't believe faith requires us to pretend life isn't messy.

I believe God meets us in the mess.

Whether you found me through a podcast, a retreat or my writing, I'm so glad you're here.

There's room here for real life, honest conversations, faith, and a little humor along the way.
